Brainrot Guard

This Privacy Policy explains how Safal Shrestha("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Brainrot Guardapplication (the "App"), available on Android. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Depending on how you use the App, we may collect the following categories of information:

• Daily counts of short videos seen and watched per supported app, time spent watching them, and how often you opened Reels and backed out at the pause, stored only on your device
• When a video was last recognised in each supported app and the time spent there since, used only to warn you if counting stops working, stored only on your device
• Your settings (daily limit, which apps to count, display options, changes scheduled for tomorrow, whether you own Pro), stored only on your device

Information you may directly provide while using the App:

• A counting report, only if you choose to create and send one: the layout of one screen (element names, types and sizes) with every text removed and replaced by its length

Information that may be collected automatically as you use the App:

• On-screen creator name and caption of the short video currently shown in Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Facebook, read through Android's Accessibility Service, held in memory for a few seconds to tell one video from the next, and never stored or shared
• Which app is in the foreground, used only to show or hide the counter

The App may request the following device permissions:

• Accessibility Service (`BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE`): reads the creator name and caption of the short video on screen in supported apps to count videos, and shows the counter, the daily-limit wall and the Pro pause. It does not read other apps, messages, passwords, or anything you type, and it never taps, types or scrolls on its own
• Google Play Billing (`com.android.vending.BILLING`, with `INTERNET` and `ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE`): used only to check and make the one-time Pro purchase. Your counts and settings are never sent
• Background work (`WAKE_LOCK`, `FOREGROUND_SERVICE`, `RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED`, declared by Android's WorkManager library): used to refresh the home-screen widget

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

• Count short videos you watch in supported apps and show the running count at the top of the screen
• Show a wall over the short-video player when you reach the daily limit you set, leaving the app's tab bar usable so messages stay reachable. Once a day you can wait one minute on Brainrot Guard's own screen for 5 more videos
• With Pro, show a short pause when you open Reels. Tapping "I'm done" takes you to your home screen and "Not now" goes back one screen; these are the only actions the app takes, and only when you tap
• Delay any change that loosens your limits until the next day
• Warn you when counting seems to have stopped working, and let you send a redacted screen report if you choose

Where required by applicable law (such as the GDPR), the following legal bases apply to our processing of personal data:

• Consent: you turn on the Accessibility Service yourself after an in-app disclosure, and can turn it off at any time
• Contract: processing needed to deliver the Pro purchase you make through Google Play
• Consent: a counting report is created and sent only when you choose to

• Google Play Billing — Processing the optional one-time Pro purchase. Brainrot Guard receives only whether you own Pro; payment details stay with Google (privacy policy)

• Brainrot Guard does not sell personal data and has no ads or analytics
• Your counts, settings and anything read from the screen are never shared. The app has no account and no server of its own
• A counting report leaves your device only if you tap Send and choose an app to send it with
• Information may be disclosed when required by law or when necessary to protect rights, safety, or prevent fraud and abuse

Counts, settings and any unsent report are stored only in Brainrot Guard's private storage on your device. They are excluded from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. Screen text read by the Accessibility Service is kept in memory only and discarded within seconds, and is removed from reports before they are saved. The security of on-device data also depends on protections such as your screen lock and Android's app sandbox.

Counts and settings stay on your device until you delete them in Settings > Delete everything, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Screen text is never retained. A counting report stays on your device until you delete it; a report you email to the developer is kept only as long as needed to fix counting.

Brainrot Guard keeps your counts, settings and screen text on your device. Google Play may process purchase data in other countries under its own terms. If you email the developer or send a report, your message may pass through standard email infrastructure in other countries.

Brainrot Guard is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Turn counting off at any time in Android Settings > Accessibility > Brainrot Guard
• Cancel a scheduled loosening change in Brainrot Guard Settings before it takes effect
• Export your daily counts as a CSV file from Brainrot Guard Settings > Export counts (Pro)
• Delete an unsent counting report from the Today screen
• Contact the developer with privacy-related questions or requests, including deleting a report you sent

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in the Contact Information section below.

• Delete all counts from Brainrot Guard Settings > Delete everything.
• Clear Brainrot Guard's app storage in Android settings to remove counts, settings and any unsent report.
• Uninstall Brainrot Guard to remove the app and all of its local data.
• Email the developer to delete a counting report you sent.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised accordingly. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
